National Honor Society Members

Music Department
The forty-one member HHS Band was directed by Harry McNees. Band Captain was Kay Doyle; Drum Major was also Kay Doyle; Mascot was Mary Jane Planansky; and Twirlers were Shirley Langston, Lynn Ustohol, and Judy Caha. The Boy’s Chorus had twenty members, while the Girl’s Chorus had thirty-five members.
Senior Class Play
Football
The Bobcats won ballgames over Chadron Prep (19-12); Morrill (18-0); and Crawford (12-0). Losses were to Chappell (0-26); Gordon (0-6); Rushville (0-34); Minatare (0-6), and Hay Springs (0-19). Team Captains were Don Osborn and Dallas Walla for the twenty-one players.
Boys Basketball
Coach Lawrence had sixteen players out including seniors Jack Weyland, Gary Heeren, Kenny Langston, Claren Shetler, and LeRoy Wyland.
Pep Club and Cheerleading
Mrs. Johnson was the sponsor for the Pep Club and the Cheerleaders. Maragret Danbom, Myrna Langston, Loretta Lliteras, and Phyliss Wismiller were the cheerleaders
“H” Club
Letterman’s Club President Chuck Wood, Vice President Gary Schindler, and Secretary Darrell Kohrman led the boys in many activities. Members included Allen Powell, Bill Herbaugh, Gary Wax, Bob Duncan, Bert Glass, Larry Riggs, Romaine Maiefski, Joe Timblin, Don Osborn, Claren Shetler, Schindler, Gary Heeren, Bob Jensen, LeRoy Wyland, Wood, David Gasseling, Kohrman, Alfred Dicky, Dallas Walla, Dale Sampy, Richard Elliot, Kenneth Langston, jack Gasseling, and Gene Fosket. Faculty Sponsor was Bud Lawrence.
Ag Class
Mr. Scott sponsored the group, which consisted of Dean Schneider, John Ward, Kenneth Langston, Jack Gasseling, Don Osborn, Evan Basse, Richard Elliot, and LeRoy Wyland.

Editor was Phyllis Wismiller; Business Manager was Don Osborn; Sales Manager was Gary Heeren; Basketball Editor was LeRoy Wyland; Track Editor was Claren Shetler; and Football Editor was Dallas Walla.
