Class of 2006 Graduates
An overflow crowd helped to celebrate commencement exercises on Sunday in Hemingford on a sunny May afternoon. Ms. Peggy Thayer, Secondary principal at HHS proclaimed that the 30 members had all met requirements as set forth by the district 10 Board of Education. Bob Haas and Randy Dannar, members of the board presented diplomas and congratulated the members of this year's graduating class.
"Spirit of Hemingford High" Awards were given to former long-time teacher and principal, Lyle Fodnes, who now promotes the school in his position as photographer at the Hemingford Ledger; and to Lynn Weldon, long time custodian and confidant in the high school. They were introduced by the Class of 2006 President, Mallory Moeller, and the Class Vice-President, Briana Paris.
The HHS band, led by Mrs. Shaver played the traditional graduation entrance selection, "Pomp and Circumstance", and the Swing Choir also performed for the crowd later in the program
Class colors were burgundy and light blue, and the class marched out to the sounds of "Photograph", their senior song, performed by Nickelback.
The seniors received the large crowd on the front lawn on what was a beautiful spring day.

Nancy StrickerRODEONan@bbc.net | May 26, 2006 | As a mom of a Senior I must say that it was a nice ceremony and a beautiful day ^_^ A little warm inside the gym, but not bad. We have some great kids here and I'm proud to call myself an 'H.H.S. Mom' I loved Mr. Ningens' wanting to know what 'That guy had to eat'...he wants some of that for breakfast The faculty should be proud of themselves for being a huge and positive influence on these kids...you all did a great job! From a very thankful and very proud seniors' mom! Peace! Nancy S. |
Chris Curranairbornecurren@hotmail.comVicenza, ItalyAirborne Infantry | Sep 26, 2006 | I would like to provide my feedback regarding the graduation of HHS past, present, and future.I attended HHS years ago, unfortunatly I did not graduate with my class due to being taken into the home school program. To get to the point, I am still very proud of Hemingford High and I love to see the future of our small town exelling with great motivation and expectations.Keep up the good work I am very proud of all who succeed and flourish local or national, and of course it's the leadership of the teachers that help make this possible.Thank you teachers and all who made a difference in my life as well as others. Yours Truly PV2 Curran |
Jerry Schock Campbell, CAMechanical Designer | May 11, 2010 | My feedback is a little late, but I was happy that Lynn Weldon was finally honored for all the time and extra effort that she has put into the school and the students. Being her son, I know how much work she puts into it and how much she cares about all the kids she sees everyday. She always makes that extra effort, even coming in early after breaking bones slipping on icy gym stairs. I'm proud of her and I'm glad that other people feel that way too. |
